Gamma Phi Beta collaborates with Axio
Gamma Phi Beta has introduced a web-based advisor-training program for the volunteer chapter advisors of the Sorority’s 116 collegiate chapters. The program features self-guided modules covering all aspects of advising. Information is presented in a variety of formats ranging from text documentation to media rich audio/video and interactive flash presentations. Course instructors are able to communicate with advisors enrolled in the class through live chat rooms, threaded message boards, e-mail, course and institutional calendars, and file uploading. Learning is evaluated by online assessment complete with a grade book.
“Our advisors are our most valuable resource, and we are pleased to offer them the training necessary to successfully support our collegiate chapters,” said Linda Johnson, International President. Gamma Phi Beta collaborated with Axio Learning, which is a project of “Universal K-State,” a not-for-profit corporation held by Kansas State University. “Axio provided the course management system and we provided the content,” said Mary Vanier, Sorority Director-Advisor Development. “Our advisors now have immediate access to the training they need to be effective. They also have the ability to communicate and share ideas through the message board and chat room.”
